fffffuuuuuu i am so utterly jealous of this amazing, breathtaking, beautiful landscape. the lighting and shadows are perfect, the city is outstanding, and that little wolf just adds to the feeling of the vast size of the rocks and city. a very original piece, it's different in it's own unique way. your technique is your own and makes all your work stand out. this scene makes me think of a futuristic kindof setting. The city looks bleak and desolate but still silver and "new" if that make sense. another point i have to make is the speed! i know i didn't see this right from the very "open new canvas" beginning but i see some work of lower standards from professionals who moan about how it took then over 24 hours to get the landscape right but you, you just whizz through! overall, your pieces just get better and better!
Oh my ! Another great looking painting Dave ! :] You are already improving every single painting, which is a very good thing. I have a feeling that your future work is going to be very promising
What first caught my attention is the strong light emanating from the buildings situated behind the rocks. Because of the dark foreground it gives of a really nice contrast which in my eyes brings some sort of nice tension into the painting (: I think the wolf standin on the cliff also makes the viewer wonder what the story is behind the situation here, at least it makes me very curious (: ! I also like the almost eerie atmosphere here with a slight touch of hope in the corner of the wolf and the buildings (: It feels as if he has been traveling for long and just arrived at a new place. The colors geve an extra boost to that feeling (; !
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate comments like yours, especially if they come for awesome artists like you ^-^
And yeah, I love to set the atmosphere in a way so that the person who watches the painting can imagine a story behind it (also, the title helps a bit), I think it really adds emotionality to the work and it gives it that "something more" every painting should have (:
