...Finally got this done! Probably the painting with the highest level of detail I've ever made...which was a pain to do but also very rewarding ^-^ ...And I've still used an enormous canvas...can't avoid that XD
I was talking with HH (*MorbidCrowkiller) about this creature while I was painting it, and she suggested me a cool story which may be behind this scene. I'll edit this description and explain it in a sec (: Oh and this thing eats moss.
a definite 100% all rounder 5 star piece of work. The extreme, painstakingly beautiful detail means that there i can never get bored of looking at it. i seem to see new things every time i look at it. the perspective is spot on, the rocks that fade into the bg look very realistic with, as always, a surreal twist in your work. i like the mist, it makes me things of some strange, miasma world. full of strange creatures including this "moss-eater". although the creature is huge, the attention isn't drawn just to the beast because of the detail. with the pagoda and rocks and scenery and birds there is more to look at than the "main piece" so our eyes have to roam about and discover everything. "innocence" is a very good title. i think you've named it after the innocence of the creature, not meaning to destroy, it's just hungry but please correct me if i'm wrong! (: I will also say that the rocks coming of the creature are a lovely effect. although that the beast is organic, only caked in years of rocks, plants, sometimes trees etc. the rocks give it a lovely link back to it's natural beginnings. Overall definately a winner! if this dosen't get onto the favs page.... XD btw, would you like to make these creatures a joint species with me maybe? nothing major, just a ref sheet and stuff! let me know what you think ^-^
